Personal background
After my diploma in Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences, I have been working at the Institute for Applied Ecology (Öko-Institut), as a scientific staff member in the Genetic Engineering Division. From March 2001 onwards  I have been responsible at the Pesticide Action Network Germany (PAN Germany) for organic cotton project work for 10 years.

In May 2011 I have founded Future for Cotton. Hence you can benefit from my long-standing experience in education and awareness raising. I possess numerous contacts with NGOs, associations, institutions and businesses in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Benin and Senegal and cooperate with consultants and project managers for sustainable cotton production and ethical fashion.

Future for Cotton…
works with well-founded expertise, long-standing experience and wholehearted committment for your success. I support organisations, associations, public institutions and businesses in all questions on cotton, sustainability, green fashion and ethical consumption.

  • Educational and Awareness Raising Projects
When it comes to green fashion, information needs are evident. What is really "organic", where do raw materials come from and what do I need to consider for purchase? Future for Cotton projects and events are designed for everyone who is interested in sustainable clothing. For professionals in the fashion and textile sector, I organise conferences and workshops, offer in-house training for sales staff, etc. The content of these events cover both fundamentals and new trends in this fascinating sector.

How does cotton make it from the field into our wardrobes? Where is it processed and who is involved in cotton supply chains? I develop activity propositions for pupils or students, which showcase participants production cycles, processing options and sales of sustainable cotton and gives them hands-on experience. Furthermore I offer a broad range of information materials for all aspects of sustainable cotton and textile production.

  • Consultancy
Market and subject-matter research, analysis and studies on problems related to conventional cotton production and the solutions and strategies available in sustainable cotton production systems, and on sustainable consumption of textiles in Germany and Europe are elements of consultancy offered by Future for Cotton.
  • Lectures and Presentations
Alexandra Perschau participates as a Lecturer or Host in events on cotton, ethical fashion and corporate responsibility and in fashion industries.
  • Service
